LUCTHAAN

LUCTHAAN, the exceptionally versatile polyurethane elastomer, with specific properties for a lot of niche applications!

LUCTHAAN is a polyurethane elastomer originally developed by LUC in the 1970’s in order to achieve an extremely low compression set, maintaining strength and wear properties. High friction, hydrolytic stability and good resistance against mineral oils and greases were added later on. Due to the large variety of grades, all with their specific properties, LUCTHAAN always was an interesting alternative for established conventional polyurethane and rubber products. Nowadays applications go far beyond this, LUCTHAAN can provide specific functionalities for all kinds of machine parts. LUCTHAAN is available in hardness’s from 40 to 95 Shore A.

Special grades within the LUCTHAAN group of materials.

LUCTHAAN-CS

The lowest possible compression set, available from 50 to 85 Shore A.

LUCTHAAN-HB

Resistant against acids and lye’s, with a temperature resistance of up to 120°C. Available from 55 to 90°A.

LUCTHAAN-PP

Higher strength and better wear resistance. Available from 60 to 95 Shore A.

Most LUCTHAAN grades can be supplied with a constant surface roughness (CR) or an anti-adhesive (non-sticking) surface and/or with antistatic (AS) or electrically conductive (EG) properties.
Food grades
Food grades A selected group of LUCTHAAN grades is suitable for direct food contact, according to EU and/or FDA regulations, for both wet and dry food. There are four different grades available, LUCTHAAN-FD, -FW, -FC and -FE series, the differences or explained here.
